Tapas, Beaches, & Cute Boys

If you want a city that has it all, Barcelona is it. They have great food, a bumping nightlife and a beach that’s right along the city. I knew it was going to be an amazing trip as soon as my roommates and I got to the airport, because guess who was on our plane?

Shia Labeouf!! I would have a picture with Shia, but when Leah and I went up to him he denied us for a photo. Thanks Shia… Louis Stevens wouldn’t have denied us. So here’s a picture of him getting a coffee.

Anyways as soon as you get to Barcelona you can see and feel how different the culture is. We got to watch a soccer game in a bar the first night. It’s crazy how much they love soccer. The hardest thing to get used to is their eating times. They eat breakfast really late because they stay up till 5 or 6am. They don’t eat lunch till 2-4ish and then dinner isn’t till 8:30-12am. It was definitely a change.

The best part about Barcelona though was drooling over the work of Antoni Gaudí, AKA the greatest architect of all time!! We went to Park Guell and saw the Gaudi House Museum (which is where he lived). Learning about him before going to Sagrada Família was perfect because I got to learn why he cared so much about this project.

There are not enough words to describe how beautiful Sagrada Família is. It gave me the chills walking in there. The crazy part is, it’s not even done yet… They projected that it will be done by 2026!

We also went to the Mercado de La Boqueria. It’s a huge market that sells the best juices, the prettiest fruit I’ve ever seen and basically everything else you could want. I wouldn’t normally describe fruit as pretty but everything here was a hard 10.

La Rambla Street, great place for gifts/souvenirs

Barcelona is an amazing city that has so much to offer. You could walk around all day and never get bored. There’s no shortage of beautiful buildings, great shopping and amazing food. Barcelona is one of my favorite cities and I can’t wait to go back!
